TARI KUDA LUMPING

Kuda Lumping is one of the arts of dance originating from the region of Central Java, the dancers use a rocking horse made of woven bamboo or so-called "Rattan Horses" or "Flat Horses" dancers usually consists of 4-6 dancers (male and female) or more.

Origin of Kuda Lumping

There are several versions about the origin Kuda Lumping them are :

1. Tari Bengon Putri

• Tari Buto Lawas : This dance is the climax of the show dance kuda lumping, consisting of six men usually 2-3 lumping horse and others accompany, but not infrequently the number of dancers increased by audiences who experience possessed by spirits, strange movements they (the audience and dancers) can rhythmically even without exercise.
• Tari Senterewe : Duet between male and female dancers.
